The Beans and Rice Ball is the main fund raiser for the Washington Overseas Mission. It is held annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, normally at the Elks Hall in Washington, Missouri. The ball is a party which includes amazing Latin food, beverages, dancing to a live band and both a silent and live auction. Many times the oral auction includes get away vacation rental homes in exotic locations, golf outings, art work from local artists, theater and sports tickets and in home dinners from a well-known local chef. All the funds raised from the Beans and Rice Ball go directly to serving the people of Honduras.
